And asking myself is it really worth it?
In my country, Indonesia, Scirocco R cost 90k. That's 21k more than a Golf GTI. That's 41k more than Fiat 500 Arbath. That's 31k more than a Miata. That's even 10k more than a nicely spec-ed E250 Mercedes and 15k more than WRX STI. And that's just for a Stylized-out Golf.
Well, my friend tell me that it's worth it, he said it's like driving something out of concept floor, despite it's essentially a golf. But It's that really worth it? What do you think?

Just look at it. It's worth it.

yeah. I reckon so.
but only because they're $35k in Australia not 90

addendum: $35k slightly used. They're easily over 50 for a brand new one.

I love golfs more than most people should have any right to, and perhaps its because we in the US aren't fortunate enough to get the 'rocco, but I would definitely get one if I had the money. I have a mk6 GTI and I've driven the mk6 golf R, and I can tell you that given my personal experience in a golf R albeit stock, compared to my GTI, the awd while nice, wasn't as impressive as I had hoped, and with less drivetrain loss, a fwd with the same power output will be faster except off of the line. I think the styling of the rocco is very sleek and I would be willing to shell out a bit more money for one, but ultimately its up to you. I think the rocco is a much more special car than a GTI, but I think a GTI with the 21K you didn't use on the rocco put into mods on the GTI would be a very wicked car, and probably a better performance car than a stock rocco. Like I said, its up to you, but all I'll say is if you get either, and you're looking to drive them hard in the turns, put either 225/40/18s front and 235/40/18s rear, or 235/40/18s front and 245/40/18s rear, I'm running the first set up, and the extra grip in the back transforms the car, makes it feel almost awd in terms of grip in turns.

I'd gladly make this my daily driver, because this is obviously a sweet car. I'd do anything to make it practical.
